Purpose

​

The Hand Model Experience is a complimentary service offered by The Stevens Standard in exchange for participation in professional photography, videography, and promotional content. This experience is intended to support creative projects, portfolio development, content creation, product testing, and the continued refinement of professional nail techniques.

​

By applying for and participating in the Hand Model Experience, applicants acknowledge that they are volunteering to receive a complimentary nail service while allowing The Stevens Standard full creative direction throughout the appointment.

Creative Direction

​

All services provided as part of the Hand Model Experience are artist-directed.

​

The following elements will be selected at the sole discretion of Kirsten:

​

• Nail shape

• Nail length

• Colour selection

• Nail art and design

• Products and techniques used

• Overall creative concept

 

While personal preferences may be considered where reasonably possible, they cannot be guaranteed and the final artistic direction remains entirely at the discretion of The Stevens Standard.

Technique Development

​

The Hand Model Experience may be used to develop, refine, and showcase new professional techniques as part of The Stevens Standard's ongoing commitment to education and innovation.

​

This may include, but is not limited to:

​

• Dual Forms Technique application

• Advanced nail art

• New products or systems

• Specialty treatments

• Experimental or signature designs

 

Participants acknowledge that appointments may involve techniques that are currently being refined or evaluated for future service offerings. All services will be performed using professional products, industry best practices, and the same level of care, hygiene, and attention to detail expected of all services provided by The Stevens Standard.

Appointment Duration

​

Hand Model appointments are significantly longer than standard appointments.

​

Participants agree to allow additional time for:

​

• Design planning

• Application of the selected service

• Photography

• Videography

• Content creation

• Minor adjustments required for filming or photography

 

Appointment lengths may vary depending on the creative project.

Photography & Videography Consent

​

Participation in the Hand Model Experience requires consent to be photographed and recorded.

​

Images and video captured during the appointment may be used by The Stevens Standard for purposes including, but not limited to:

​

• Website content

• Social media

• Advertising and marketing

• Educational materials

• Portfolio development

• Printed promotional material

 

By participating, models grant The Stevens Standard permission to use this content without compensation beyond the complimentary service provided.

Photo Submission Requirements

​

All applicants must submit recent, clear, unedited photographs of both hands as part of the application process.

​

Where possible, nails should be free from:

​

• Nail polish

• Gel polish

• Acrylic

• Builder gel

• Nail art

 

Application photographs are used solely to assess:

​

• Nail shape

• Nail bed proportions

• Skin condition

• Cuticle condition

• Overall hand aesthetics

• Suitability for the planned creative project

 

Selection decisions are based on the artistic and technical requirements of each individual project and are never intended to discriminate against any applicant.

Submitting an application does not guarantee selection.

​

Eligibility

​

To participate, applicants must:

​

• Be at least 16 years of age.

• Have healthy natural nails suitable for the planned service.

• Be willing to receive artist-selected designs.

• Be comfortable appearing in photography and video content.

• Arrive on time for their scheduled appointment.

• Follow all pre-appointment instructions provided by The Stevens Standard.

 

Cancellations & No-Shows

​

As Hand Model appointments require extensive preparation and scheduling, participants are expected to provide as much notice as possible if they need to cancel or reschedule.

​

Repeated cancellations, late cancellations, or failure to attend an appointment without notice may result in future Hand Model applications being declined.

​

Right to Decline or End a Service

​

The Stevens Standard reserves the right to decline, reschedule, or discontinue any Hand Model appointment if:

​

• The applicant is not suitable for the intended project.

• The applicant arrives with contraindications that prevent the service from being performed safely.

• The applicant is unwilling to follow artistic direction.

• The applicant behaves in a disrespectful, inappropriate, or unsafe manner.

• Circumstances arise that prevent completion of the planned service.

 

Acceptance of Policy

By submitting an application and attending a Hand Model appointment, participants confirm that they have read, understood, and agree to this Hand Model Experience Policy and acknowledge that the complimentary service is provided in exchange for participation in content creation and artistic collaboration.
